Based on the official docs at docs.saseul.com and notices in SASEUL's official Telegram channel (checked September 27, 2026).

SASEUL coin (SL) is the coin you pay as a fee when you put a transaction on SASEUL's record book. The official SASEUL docs say so.

Other uses have been announced as features of Guardee, the official wallet app. QR codes and an NFC card wallet (NFC means the phone and a card or sticker exchange data when you hold them close) are out. No launch date for 1:1 messages or the message board had been announced as of September 27, 2026.

What is SL used for?

The SL page in the official docs (April 9, 2025) says this:

The notices also mention a few features you pay SL for. The August 9, 2023 notice (#56) said making an NFT (a digital keepsake recorded on the record book) costs an SL fee. The right to issue your own NFTs was 100 SL for 10. The September 9, 2022 notice (#13) laid out a plan to set the cost of making a new token at 1 SL per byte.

In the December 31, 2025 notice (#69), the SASEUL team said SL needs new features built on SASEUL to be widely used. But they wrote that, apart from a few overseas research groups, even basic connections had been hard to get.

What features has the wallet app added?

Here are the features confirmed by notices, in date order. Dates are Korea time.

With the June 2026 overhaul, Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) support ended (#81). The notice said keys and addresses from old wallets can be seen in the settings.

What is the NFC card wallet?

It puts your wallet key on a card you tap on your phone, like a transit card. It's in the June 19, 2026 notice (#80).

Card type (NTAG216)

The recommended card type is NTAG216.

What happens if you lose the card isn't in the notice, so that's unknown. A private key is like your bank password and signature stamp in one, so the card holding it probably needs the same care.

Can I use 1:1 messages and the message board now?

According to the notices, they're not out yet. 1:1 messages were announced in the March 12, 2025 notice (#62). Only the two people in the chat can see it, and each message costs a very small SL fee. It also said it would be slower than a normal messenger.

The change list in the June 2026 app overhaul notices (#80, #81) doesn't include 1:1 messages. For the message board, the December 31, 2025 notice (#69) said it would be shown in a demo (showcase) and released along with an updated manual. No launch notice has come since.

Whether they're already inside the app couldn't be checked.

Are there shops that take SL?

Unknown. On September 27, 2026, I looked through the whole official notice channel and the official website (front page and Businesses page), and found no list of shops.

The Businesses page on the official website says shops can accept SL payments. It points to low fees and payments that can't be reversed. That's the project's own pitch, and it names no shops that actually take SL.

If you see a shop or service saying "pay with SL", check whether the official notices say the same thing before you send any coins. If you've found a list of shops, let us know through the tip box.

How can I see how SL is used myself?

Look at the "Latest Transactions" box on the front page of the official block explorer (the official site where anyone can see the record book), explorer.saseul.com. Each transaction shows its type.

On the front page at 9:52 a.m. on September 27, 2026, 9 of the 10 latest transactions were Refine (turning the mining share into SL), and 1 was Send. That's one moment in time, so it doesn't mean it's always like this.
