How Do SASEUL Mining Rewards Become SL? Turning Points (Resource) into SL (Refine), Supply and the Next Reduction Date

· Updated · Tech notes

How do SASEUL mining rewards become SL?

They pile up as resource, and become SL at that day's rate when you refine

2,000resource

Contribution points for one turn as validator (minimum)

42.763%

Current conversion rate (explorer, September 27)

About 855SL

SL you get from refining 2,000

Worked out from the SL page and the Refine contract example in the official docs, and the official explorer's statistics screen (September 27, 2026).

SASEUL mining rewards go through two steps. First they pile up as resource (Resource, mining reward points), and only become SL when you refine them (turn the points into coins). The command guide in the official docs says refine is "the command that turns accumulated resource (mining rewards) into SL".

When you convert, you multiply by that day's rate. On September 27, 2026, the rate on the official explorer (Refine Multiplier) was 42.763%. So refining 100 resource gives about 42.8 SL.

People mining in a mining pool (a group that mines together and splits the coins) don't do this step themselves. In a pool, you get paid in SL (per the saseulmine.com guide).

How does resource pile up?

It piles up when you win at mining and take a turn as a validator (the role that checks and signs transactions). The SL page in the official docs (April 9, 2025) says you get at least 2,000 contribution points for each turn as validator.

An example page in the official docs explains that the SASEUL network stores each contribution to making blocks in the form of resource. The How it Works page on the official website says resource can't be passed between people, and only becomes SL through refine.

Transaction fees go round in a circle too. The SL page in the official docs says fees paid in SL turn back into resource and go to validators as rewards.

How much SL do I get from refining?

You get your resource multiplied by that day's rate. The Refine Multiplier on the official explorer's statistics screen is this rate. Whether a fee is subtracted depends on the contract version. The 2023 Refine contract shown as an example in the official docs (version 2) takes "resource converted × multiplier (the rate)" and subtracts a fee. The Refine contract on the chain now (version 4) has no fee subtraction (checked on an official node on September 27, 2026).

What Value Where it was checked
Contribution points for one turn as validator At least 2,000 SL page in the official docs
Current conversion rate (Refine Multiplier) 42.763% Official explorer, 9:23 on September 27
Refining 2,000 now gives About 855 SL Worked out (2,000 × 0.42763)
Total supply (Total Supply) 3,474,603,007 SL Official explorer, 9:23 on September 27
Maximum supply 5.5 billion SL Official website FAQ, CoinMarketCap project profile
Expected next reduction (Next Reduction) January 12, 2027 Value worked out and shown by the official explorer, 9:23 on September 27

The total supply is about 63% of the maximum. So a little more than 6 in 10 of all the coins that will ever exist are already out. About 2,025.4 million SL are left.

Statistics screen of the official SASEUL explorer (10:00, September 27, 2026). The red boxes are the conversion rate, total supply and next reduction date. It was taken 37 minutes after the table above (9:23), so the supply has grown a little.

How does the rate go down?

Each time it goes down, it's multiplied by 27/32 (0.84375). A rate of 100 becomes about 84 after one drop. After four drops it's about 51, which is why people say it roughly halves every 4 years.

The current rate of 42.763% matches 27/32 multiplied five times (0.42763) to the fifth decimal place. By the numbers, it has dropped five times since the mainnet started in May 2022.

Public sources word it a bit differently.

Source What it says
SL page in the official docs (April 9, 2025) SL from refine drops by 27/32 at set intervals (about every 4 years)
Official website FAQ Drops about 15.9% every year and halves every 4 years. About 5.5 billion SL over 100 years
CoinMarketCap project profile Drops to 27/32 every year, roughly halving every 4 years. Maximum 5,500,000,000 SL
Official explorer (September 27) Current rate 42.763%, expected next reduction January 12, 2027

Dropping to 27/32 means a 15.625% cut each time. That's a little different from the 15.9% in the official website FAQ. Why they differ is unknown. 15.9% is the yearly cut that makes something exactly halve in 4 years. My guess is that's where the FAQ number comes from.

Is January 12, 2027 a fixed date?

It doesn't seem to be a date set on the calendar. It looks like an expected date the explorer works out from the amount left.

Opening the public script that builds the explorer screen shows how the next reduction date is worked out. It takes the limit that can be issued in this period and subtracts what's already been issued in this period. Then it divides that remaining amount, assuming "2,000 × the current rate" comes out every minute.

The calculation was redone with the values the explorer loaded at 9:55 on September 27. Of this period's limit of about 427.63 million SL, about 296 million SL had already been issued. Dividing the remaining roughly 131.63 million SL by about 855 SL a minute gives about 107 days later, January 12, 2027.

So the actual reduction date can probably move earlier or later. How much has been issued in this period depends on when and how much people refine.

The reduction rule in detail, from public sources
  • The Refine contract shown as an example on the System Method page in the official docs (April 16, 2023) has values called multiplier (the rate), season_supply (amount issued this period) and reduction_limit (this period's limit). It shows a condition where, once the amount issued this period passes the limit, the rate is multiplied by 0.84375 (=27/32) and the limit changes to "1 billion × the new rate"
  • The official explorer's contract list also has a Refine with the same name and the same number (286d8e…). On September 27 the contract content screen wouldn't open on the explorer. Asking the official node the explorer uses (main.saseul.net) for the contract list (ListCode) shows the current contract. It's version 4, and the reduction rule (0.84375, limit "1 billion × the new rate") is the same as the example. The fee subtraction and the "more than the fee" condition aren't there
  • Values the explorer loaded at 9:55 on September 27: rate 0.4276307522, this period's limit 427,630,752.2 SL, amount issued this period about 295,999,254.5 SL. The limit is exactly 1 billion × the current rate, which matches the rule above
  • If 2,000 × the rate comes out every minute, one period is 500,000 minutes, about 347 days. That's close to the explanation that it drops every year
  • The rate drops not on a date but each time refined resource fills up 1 billion (the Refine contract example, version 4, in the official GitHub saseul/sample-contracts)
  • But at 347 days each, five drops should take about 4.75 years. From the mainnet start (May 2022) to now is about 4.4 years. Also, if today's rule had applied since 2022, the five periods alone should have produced about 3,660 million SL, but the explorer's total supply on September 30, 2026 was about 3,477.76 million SL. My guess is the earlier rule was different
  • To see when the drops happened, I asked the official node (main.saseul.net) for past main blocks (October 1, 2026). The first drop came right on the day the mainnet opened (May 17, 2022). After that it dropped on April 29, 2023, March 18, 2024, February 21, 2025 and January 30, 2026 (Korea time). Apart from the first day, that is about once a year, which is how five drops fit into 4.4 years
  • SL goes to 18 decimal places (SL page in the official docs). So the original values have 18 more digits after them

If I mine in a pool, who does the refine?

People mining in a pool get paid in SL. According to the guide of saseulmine.com, one of the pools named in the official Telegram notice (September 15, 2026), it settles once a day and sends to your address. It says the share is split 80% to the miner, 10% to the person who referred them and 10% to the pool.

At 9:45 on September 27, this pool's front page showed 59,712.5119 SL paid out so far to 18 addresses. The payout (the pool handing out the coins it mined) records are in SL too.

The guide doesn't say the pool does refine for you. But since the pool's mining rewards pile up as resource, the pool most likely converts them to SL and hands them out. The recent payout of 855.2615 SL seen at 9:58 matches 2,000 × 0.4276307522 to the fourth decimal place. It may be one block's reward converted as is.

If you run your own node, you have to refine yourself. The command is in the fold-out box below. How to choose a pool is in what is a mining pool, and basic numbers are in SASEUL basic facts.

For node runners: checking resource and the refine command

This command is from the command guide in the official docs (updated March 9, 2026).

sudo docker exec -it saseul-node saseul-script refine

An example page in the official docs (April 20, 2024) shows how to check your resource amount (GetResource) and send a refine transaction (Refine, amount) with SASEUL JS. Under the contract's conditions, the amount you convert must be a whole number, can't be more than the resource you have, and the SL it produces must be more than 0. The 2023 docs example says "more than the fee", but the current contract (version 4) doesn't have that condition.
