Are SASEUL GOLD and SASEUL the same thing?

Only the names look alike. The names listed as makers and the ledgers are separate

I opened both coins' official sites, ledger sites, the whitepaper and exchange notices on September 29, 2026 and compared them.

No, they're not the same coin. SASEUL GOLD (ticker SG) just has a name that looks like SASEUL (ticker SL). It's a different coin that runs on its own.

SASEUL, also called SASEUL coin, was made by ArtiFriends, a Korean company. The author field of the SASEUL GOLD whitepaper (the project's introduction document) says "saseul gold foundation." The name ArtiFriends doesn't appear in the SASEUL GOLD whitepaper or in the articles that introduced SASEUL GOLD.

How can you tell the ledgers are separate?

Open both coins' block explorers (sites that show the ledger to anyone) on the same day.

At 12:55 p.m. on September 29, 2026, the top block (one page of the ledger) of the transaction ledger (Main Blocks) on the official SASEUL explorer was #4,415,139. At 12:48 p.m. the same day, the top block on the SASEUL GOLD explorer was #22,591,872.

If it were the same ledger, the page numbers would match. They're about five times apart, so they're being written in different ledgers. The SASEUL GOLD explorer also shows records of SG being swapped for other tokens.

How does SASEUL GOLD describe itself?

The SASEUL GOLD whitepaper (version 1.0.0, December 20, 2024) calls SASEUL GOLD a "DEX-specific blockchain." It's a blockchain (a transaction ledger shared across many computers) built for swapping coins with each other.

The whitepaper says it took the direction and purpose of the SASEUL network as a reference and was built on the technical foundation of the existing SASEUL blockchain. It also says it merged SASEUL's two-strand ledger structure into a single main ledger. A Blockchain Today article on January 6, 2025 said the same thing in Korean.

The program is on GitHub under the Saseulgold account. That account was created in December 2024. It's a different account from SASEUL's official GitHub (github.com/saseul).

There's a separate phone wallet app too. The developer name on "Saseul Gold Wallet" on Google Play is Blockchain System Co., Ltd. The developer of Guardee, SASEUL's official wallet, is ArtiFriends.

Where did it trade?

SASEUL GOLD traded on two exchanges outside Korea. First, the Vietnamese exchange VEXK said in a March 7, 2025 notice that it would open SG trading at 3 p.m. (Korea time) on March 14. I couldn't confirm how long it actually traded on VEXK.

Next, an XT.com notice shows SG/USDT trading started at 3 p.m. (Korea time) on May 7, 2025.

According to an XT.com notice, that trading ended at 4 p.m. (Korea time) on December 18, 2025. A SASEUL GOLD notice said it was preparing to relist on an exchange in Korea. I couldn't confirm whether it was actually relisted.

SASEUL (SL) was listed on BitMart on May 9, 2025. BitMart stopped all trading on the exchange from August 26, 2026. The details are in the BitMart closure post.

Do official SASEUL channels mention SASEUL GOLD?

None of the places I checked mention SASEUL GOLD.

So what's the relationship between them?

Public sources confirm this much. SASEUL GOLD has SASEUL in its name, and its self-introduction says it took SASEUL as a reference. But the name listed as the maker, the ledger, the ticker, official site, app developer and exchanges are all different from SASEUL's. Official SASEUL channels have never mentioned SASEUL GOLD.

So SASEUL GOLD looks like a separate coin, run on its own by someone other than ArtiFriends. The SASEUL GOLD whitepaper says it was built on the technology of the existing SASEUL blockchain. This is my guess from the sources above.

There are things I couldn't confirm. I don't know how much of the SASEUL program SASEUL GOLD reused, because I didn't compare the code. I also couldn't find whether ArtiFriends has ever put out a statement about SASEUL GOLD. The name ArtiFriends isn't in the partner list in the SASEUL GOLD articles.

What should people who mine or hold SASEUL (SL) look at?

Start with the ticker. SASEUL is SL, SASEUL GOLD is SG. Check ledger records on the official SASEUL explorer, explorer.saseul.com.

The SASEUL GOLD whitepaper's author field says "saseul gold foundation." SASEUL GOLD news is posted on the official SASEUL GOLD site (saseulgold.org).

How can you tell an official SASEUL channel?

Official SASEUL addresses are in the official channels list. Even if something has "SASEUL" (or 사슬, its Korean name) in its name, it's not an official SASEUL channel unless it's on that list.

Xphere and ZIGAP, which often come up alongside SASEUL, were also made by a different company.
